4 Ways to Have Fun on Your Travel Nursing Assignment Without Spending Money

As a travel nurse, you have the privilege of visiting different cities. While there are a whole lot of ways to have fun on your days off, you could have fun without spending any money. Here are 4 fun activities you could do on your day off.

Take a walk in the park

This is probably one of my favorite ways of spending my time. Most cities have beautiful parks to explore, and walking around and getting fresh air is a great way to spend your time.

On rainy days or days where I want to relax, I enjoy reading books. Take a trip to your local library and sign up for a library card. When you borrow a book from the library it is free. With the library app, I don’t even have to physically go to the library, I can just order books on my iPad.

Explore

As a travel nurse, you should take advantage of your current situation and get out and explore your new city. If you live near a beach, on your day off, you should go bask in the sun. If you live near the mountains or nature, find some local hiking trail. There is so much outside of your backyard to see!

Volunteer

If you want to give back to the community you currently live in, volunteering is a great way to have fun and be productive. If you love animals like I do, you could make a trip to the local animal shelter and sign up as a volunteer to walk dogs. There are so many ways to give back and make a difference.
